Blackbeard (Edward Teach) – Pirates Series | Official Renaissance Collector Card
The Most Feared Pirate Who Ever Sailed
Blackbeard, born Edward Teach (or Thatch), was the most notorious pirate of the Golden Age of Piracy — a towering figure who terrorized the Atlantic and Caribbean from 1716 to 1718 with his flagship, the Queen Anne’s Revenge. He was famous for weaving slow-burning fuses into his thick black beard during battle, wreathing his face in smoke and fire to appear as a demon rising from hell.
In just two years of piracy, Blackbeard captured dozens of ships and became a legend so powerful that his name alone was enough to make crews surrender. He met his end in a fierce battle off the coast of North Carolina in 1718 — reportedly taking five bullet wounds and twenty sword cuts before finally falling.
