Calico Jack (John Rackham) – Pirates Series | Official Renaissance Collector Card
The Pirate Who Flew the Jolly Roger
Calico Jack, born John Rackham, was one of the most colorful pirates of the Golden Age — famous for his flamboyant calico clothing, his daring theft of a sloop right out of Nassau harbor, and for sailing with two of the most formidable women pirates in history: Anne Bonny and Mary Read.
Calico Jack is also credited with designing one of the most iconic symbols in history — the Jolly Roger, the skull-and-crossbones flag that became the universal emblem of piracy. His career was short but spectacular, ending in 1720 when a surprise attack found his crew too drunk to fight. Legend has it that only Anne Bonny and Mary Read put up any resistance.
